When you are nervous and jittery to the point of needing to vomit, worried about the pleasure-less future and the fragile state of your brain, there is a soothing beauty in the sameness and routine of a drawn image. You know in your heart it's sort of bad but when it's scanned and up there in the flickering machine light it sort of all makes sense and you can go about your day.
